Two reports, both from Reuters. First, Bush says that Iran could blackmail the world if it gets nookyuhler power. I'm no friend of the rather loopy Iranian President, nor am I any fan of nuclear power, but doesn't it seem just a little hypocritical to make these sorts of accusations about Iran and ignore the fact that Israel is known to have not merely nuclear power but nuclear weapons? Where are the concerns that Israel could hold the world hostage?

Second, one of Bush's cronies in the Labor Department insisted that there was no connection between the recent mine accident that killed 12 miners and the hundreds of citations the government had issued in the preceding weeks. You know things are bad when Arlen Specter starts sounding like one of the more lucid voices in the federal government.
