Did Nader just rule out a 2008 presidential run?

Ralph Nader has ran -- or stood -- for president in every election since 1992. Maybe after four straight attempts he's had enough.

Check out this line in his recent column where he urges Bill Moyers to run in the Democratic primaries:

This is where Moyers has an advantage over other progressive candidates either within the Democratic Party, like Dennis Kucinich, or in the Green Party, like Peter Camejo and Howie Hawkins.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but did he just endorse his former running mate for the Green Party nomination? And I consider it very unlikely for Camejo to run if Nader is running.

Nader ran in the early Democratic primaries in the 1992 election; stood in as the Green Party's first presidential candidate in the 1996 election; ran hard as the Green Party candidate in 2000; and sought the Green Party nomination/endorsement but was rejected in his independent bid of 2004.

Maybe he's had enough.

Frankly, I do think you're reading a lot into it.

Your own quote says Nader thinks Moyers has an advantage over Camejo. That doesn't sound much like he's endorsing Camejo to me.

Then again, his comparing others' advantages and disadvantages vis a vis each other does indeed sound like he's counting himself out. Perhaps this is his contribution to avoiding a replay of 2004.
