Just wanted you to know that I will support your party in future elections. I am an Independent who voted for Kerry but have been grossly disappointed by his post-election stance. Thank you for all you're doing in Ohio, NV, and NM... and I pray that you uncover something substantial. Kris ...
The Whine and the WisdomThere are a number of whines circulating amidst the progressive community of the US at this point, most of them generated from the results of the recent election. Here's a sampling: "How can those people [read: "red staters"] be the way they are?" Well, they can be that way because that's generally what they've been taught to believe. Some people think in the "red state" fashion based on religion. Some based on social factors. Some based on economic factors. Many for all three of those reasons. But mostly they do so because they've been taught and constantly reminded of the famous message of Margaret Thatcher: TINA; There Is No Alternative.
Dreaming Upside-Downby Tom Peterson I dreamed the other night that all the maps in the world had been turned upside down. Library atlases, roadmaps of Cincinnati, wall-sized maps in the war rooms of the great nations, even antique maps with such inscriptions as "Here be Dragons" were flipped over. What had been north was now south, east was west. Like a glob of melting vanilla ice cream, Antarctica now capped schoolroom globes. In my dream, a cloud of anxieties closed around me. The United States was now at the bottom. Would we have to stand upside-down, causing the blood to rush to our heads? Would we need suction-cup shoes to stay on the planet, and would autumn leaves fall up? No, I remembered, an apple once bopped Newton on the head - no need to worry about these things. Other things troubled me more.
So, here we go.Here's the site, adapted for radio by nailing it to a piece of wood. "Chlorophyll" is about saying "green" without saying "green." Anyway, as you may guess, the design is a default Drupal theme. I'll get to work making it snazzy right away.
